MS Two-Year Degree Plan: Mathematics
The traditional master's degree in mathematics takes about two years to complete.

Tips for success
- To fulfill the requirements for your master's degree, you must complete a minimum
of 18 hours of 700-level courses. At least one of the following four courses must
be completed:
- MTH 702 Real and Abstract Analysis
- MTH 722 Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations II
- MTH 732 Abstract Algebra II
- MTH 742 Statistical Inference II
- You may count up to six (6) hours of research toward your degree.
- With advisor approval, you can also take a maximum of six (6) hours of elective courses in fields related to mathematics.
